Thigh/Hamstring

An injury to either the thigh or hamstring is usually caused by speed, sudden changes in direction or fatigue. These muscles often suffer from varying degrees of soft tissue injury, from a strain to a major tear. The symptoms are pain, swelling and loss of movement. If you suffer an acute injury like this, follow the RICE principle (Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation) and consult a physiotherapist straightaway. The sooner this injury is diagnosed, the better it can be managed to ensure a faster recovery and return to sport.
