Massage
Sports Massage is used by athletes at all levels to help prevent
breakdown and injury. It is also used to help prevent an excessive
build up of scar tissue following an injury and can stretch specific
localised areas of soft tissue in a way that may not be possible
with exercise.
The Sports Massage Therapist will assess you to ensure that sports
massage is the most appropriate course of action. (If you have
an injury, you may need to be referred to a Chartered Physiotherapist).
He will then use a variety of techniques, including:
- gentle and deep tissue massage
- soft-tissue release
- muscle energy techniques
- stretching
After a sports massage session, your body should feel more finely
tuned, with better general circulation and relaxed muscles and
soft-tissue. Regular sports massage between sporting activity
will enhance your body’s healing processes and speed recovery.
Sports Massage is available at our Mottingham clinic on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday - and at our Bromley clinic on Tuesday.
