This involves the analysis, diagnosis and treatment of a variety of
lower-limb bio-mechanical problems. By assessing gait, feet and weight-bearing
activities, the podiatrist is able to identify problems that could be
affecting the spine, pelvis and lower limbs.
Often the podiatrist and physiotherapist will work together for the
patient’s benefit in order to resolve musculoskeletal problems. Orthotics
(supports that fit into your shoes) may also be used as part of the overall
programme.
