Total Golf Conditioning
It doesn’t matter what level of golf you play, most golfers are always striving to improve their swing, consistently hit the ball further and straighter and play without injury. So, for the benefit of the golfer, we have combined the expertise of a golf professional, a chartered sports physiotherapist and a strength and conditioning coach to develop a programme that covers all aspects of the game.
Our aim is to enable you to lower your handicap, play a more efficient short game, reduce the likelihood of injury and feel the benefits of an overall improvement in your golf.

This is a tailor made programme for each golfer and a year round programme taking you through the on and off season.

Our custom-built golf training area includes golf nets, practice clubs and state of the art video analysis and playback facility.

“A person’s optimal swing is dictated by their levels of strength, flexibility, power, control and co-ordination. It makes no sense for a player to be told to move in a certain way if they do not have the physical capabilities.” Dr Rob Neal – Founder, Golf BioDynamics

Musculoskeletal movement patterns are specific to the sport played and so the first step is to carry out a full musculoskeletal analysis to gain a thorough understanding of your individual musculoskeletal patterns and how they are affecting your golf performance.
An integrated approach is necessary, so we consider all of the following:

• An in-depth technical analysis of the golf swing and the biomechanics involved
• Knowledge of the body's musculoskeletal demands and movement patterns
• Methods of training and conditioning that will enable changes to take place, increasing fitness and enhancing the body's tolerance to golf activity.

For best results, and a truly integrated approach, the musculoskeletal assessment is done in conjunction with Total Golf Analysis' golf professional, Stewart Corstorphine, who provides a technical analysis at the same time. The technical analysis is carried out using a state-of-the-art 3D Golf BioDynamics system which, in the UK, is currently only licensed to a very limited number of golf professionals, of whom Stuart is one.
For the golfer, the musculoskeletal assessment - or screening - will address your physical limitations in relation to swing deviations and differences within the setup, posture, take-away, transition, impact and follow-through. This is equally applicable for professional golfers and amateurs young and old.
The screening is followed up with a specific programme designed for your individual needs. This may include:

• Technical drills and exercises from the golf professional combined with specific exercises from the sports physio with the overall aim of achieving a more efficient golf swing and less strain and stress on the body
• A strength and conditioning programme
• The assessment and treatment of any current injuries
• An exercise programme designed to prevent any potential injuries that may have been highlighted in the musculoskeletal assessment.

This is where the specialist golf sports physiotherapist's knowledge is critical, as the musculoskeletal analysis will always identify reasons why individuals move in certain ways and how these can be changed with an integrated approach. This is a proven and professionally organised programme leading to physical and technical changes that definitively enhance golf play and reduce injury rates with all levels of golfer.

What is absolutely fundamental to success with an individual golfer is the in-depth multi-disciplinary approach involving a golf professional, sports physiotherapist, strength and conditioning expert and allied health practitioner to drive the changes in golf swing, overall playing success and decreased injury.
