Foot
Plantar Fasciitis is the most common cause of pain in the foot. This is a broad band of fibrous tissue which runs from the heel to the base of the toes. If the biomechanics of the foot are inefficient with walking and running, this tissue can be stressed, inflamed and therefore damaged.
Treatment would include taping, stretching, soft-tissue release and possibly acupunture to help with pain relief. The physiotherapist would address any movement imbalances from the trunk downwards; analyse your gait in walking and running and aim to strengthen all relevant areas with a specific exercise programme.
