Your First Visit

To make an appointment:
Please telephone our appointment line 020 8857 6000 or email us at info@physioactive.com. We can usually make an appointment for you to see a chartered physiotherapist at one of our five clinics within the next working day.

Our appointment line is open during our usual practice opening hours. If you call outside these times, please leave a message and contact number on the answerphone and we will call you back before the end of the next working day (Monday-Friday).

Information we will need from you:
If you have a preference for a particular clinic, please tell the receptionist at the start of your conversation.

Please give the receptionist clear details of your injury. Most appointments are for 30 minutes, however, if you are suffering from a neck or back problem, you will need a longer first appointment (approx 50 minutes) to allow the physiotherapist enough time to assess your condition thoroughly before commencing treatment.

If you would like to talk to a physiotherapist before you make an appointment please contact us via the website or email or ask our receptionist for a Physio Call-back. We will endeavour to speak to you before the end of the next working day.

Many of our patients self-refer, while others come to us via their GP, consultant or insurance company. If you are intending to claim the cost of treatment from your private health insurance, you may need a letter of referral from your GP. While Chartered Physiotherapy is covered under most policies, this does not always apply to Podiatry and Acupuncture. Please check with your insurance company before making an appointment.

At your first visit:
You will be asked to complete a registration and consent form. This can also be downloaded from our website if you would like to complete it in advance.

If you have private health insurance, we will need your policy details and any pre-authorisation numbers. Please see our terms and conditions for further details.

If you have any x-rays or scans that are relevant to your injury, please bring them with you to your first appointment. Likewise, if you are an athlete, golfer, tennis player etc, please bring your running shoes, golf club, tennis racquet etc with you.

Please always dress appropriately. Depending on your injury, it may be that you will be required to undress to your underwear. You may feel more comfortable if you are wearing shorts or sports clothing. Ladies may prefer to see a female physiotherapist.
