Elbow
Tennis elbow is an inflammation of the tendons attached to the outside of the elbow joint. It is so named because it is caused by overuse of the wrist extensors, which help the gripping motion, for example holding a tennis racket or moving a computer mouse. If you receive treatment from a physiotherapist while the injury is still at the acute stage, this will help speed up your recovery process. Physiotherapy treatment will include manual therapy, stretching and strengthening exercises, ultrasound and acupuncture.
Sometimes pain in the elbow may be referred pain from the neck, in which case you will need to see the physiotherapist for a spinal assessment.
